Administrative Intern
Position Overview
We’re looking for an administrative assistant to join our holistic wellness nonprofit in its development phase team to tackle a mix of administrative and communications tasks. The administrative assistant/intern will work closely with the Executive Director, Selome Araya, learning first-hand the responsibilities and duties required to establish a health and wellness nonprofit. The role will have some interaction with the Communications Coordinator for guidance on social media strategy and RAI’s online presence. This is a remote position that can be worked from anywhere and starts unpaid.
Duties
Administrative Support
Email & Calendar Management – Organize emails, schedule meetings, and send reminders.
Data Entry & Organization – Maintain spreadsheets, update records, and organize digital files.
Client, Practitioner & Team Communication – Send follow-ups, reminders, and assist with coordination; manage emails and support with follow-up tasks with team members, clients and practitioners.
Basic Research & Reports – Gather information and compile summaries as needed; support compiling and organizing internal data, research, case studies, and testimonials.
Social Media & Website Updates – Assist in posting content on social media and updating copy on website.
Document & Presentation Preparation – Format documents, proofread materials, and create/edit slides.
General Admin Support – Assist with various operational and logistical tasks.
Support Director with communications related tasks.
Nonprofit & Organizational Management Support
Assist with tracking and following up on trademarking, licensing, and legal filings.
Research and coordinate with accountants, tax professionals, and nonprofit compliance needs.
Help manage contractor communications, agreements, and follow-ups.
Support with grant-related tasks, including gathering relevant details, organizing application materials, and tracking deadlines.
Organize and update important nonprofit records, financial information, and administrative files.
Follow up on action items from meetings related to operations, funding, and partnerships.
Support with organizational logistics such as org bank account, email accounts.
Keep track of membership, subscriptions, and renewals for software, domains, and nonprofit registrations.
Requirements
Demonstrated commitment to RAI’s mission
An interest in holistic wellness, decolonial therapy, healthcare reform, indigenous spiritualities, energy work, public health, or related areas
Desire to work in non-profit setting preferable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-discipline and time-management skills needed to work independently
Good organizational skills, self-motivated, attention to detail, and the ability to juggle several tasks while meeting deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Drive as well as social media sites such as Bluesky, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Preference given to:
Currently enrolled undergraduates or graduate students with college credit available upon internship completion
People with experience working remotely preferred
People with interest or experience in web design, Squarespace, graphic design
Availability to work 10-20 hours/week
